US Executive Order effective from 7 Oct 2016 terminates the US sanctions effective against Burma.
EU/UK All EU / UK sanctions (except for those related to arms) suspended. EU Council Reg 401/2013 implements Council Decision 2013/184/CFSP which lifts all restrictive measures except for arms embargo & the embargo on equipment which might be used for internal repression, associated services & financial services. CFSP 2018/655 renews the measures until 30 Apr 2019 and extends the arms embargo to include dual-use goods for use by the military and border guard police, equipment for monitoring communications and a prohibition on the provision of military training to, and military cooperation with, the Burma/Myanmar army. The EU has also adopted a legal framework to impose targeted sanctions (travel bans and asset freezes) against individuals deemed responsible for serious human rights violations. First persons added 25 June 2018. All restrictive measures under CFSP 2013/184 were extended until 30 April 2020 under CFSP 2019/678. All restrictive measures were extended until 30 April 2021 under CFSP 2020/563.
