The IUA is pleased to announce the publication of a new white paper produced by its Cyber Underwriting Group in collaboration with Baker Tilly.

“Split Market Reviews in Cyber BI Towers: Why It’s Time for a Rethink”, authored by Ben Hobby and Hillary Hogan, examines current practices and key challenges associated with split market reviews in cyber business interruption (BI) towers.

The paper draws on market insight to explore how the “layered” structure of cyber towers can lead to fragmented review processes, duplication of effort, and inefficiencies across stakeholders. It also highlights emerging areas of good practice and growing market appetite for more coordinated and collaborative approaches to claims review.

To build on the findings of the paper, the IUA will convene a roundtable discussion in early September, bringing together market practitioners to explore the issues raised in greater detail and to consider potential solutions and practical next steps for the market.

Further details on the roundtable will be shared with members in due course.

The IUA convenes bimonthly meetings for both the Cyber Underwriting Group and the Cyber Reinsurance Committee. Members interested in participating or learning more are encouraged to contact May El Mantawy, via the details above or Pria Punni or Joe Shaw.
