The principle of General Average is embedded in the law of all maritime countries and the absence of a General Average clause in an Offshore contract does not automatically exclude the application of General Average, where expenditure or sacrifice of a General Average nature is incurred or sustained by any of the parties to the common adventure.

At this briefing, our guest speakers will explain that General Average normally also applies to the Offshore Industry, where Offshore equipment, cargo or any other property is carried on board a vessel.
